Parkinson’s Western Australia (PWA) has been the most important supporter of our research and our goals. As well as supporting research, PWA provides a Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist Service; Support Networks for people with Parkinson’s and their family carers; and educational resources and training. PWA aims to encourage, and where appropriate, develop and implement programs for the cure, treatment and care of people with Parkinson’s.
You can read more about Parkinson's WA at their website below, including how to join.
PWA runs a number of support groups across the Perth Metro area and regional areas such as Busselton and Mandurah. Many people find these support groups invaluable sources of information. Support groups often have guest speakers and can connect you with local services to help you cope better. By sharing ideas and information with others, many people are able to find new ways of coping. Most people who attend feel that the emotional support they both give and receive is of great benefit.
